It’s never too late to start—or return to—the ice! Whether you’re brand new to skating, coming back after time away, or looking to set new goals, our adult programs provide a supportive and fun environment for every level. Skaters can build confidence, stay active, and join a welcoming community that shares a love of skating.

Adult Skating Opportunities
Levels & Tests
Adults can progress through skating in two main pathways:
- Learn to Skate USA® Adult Levels – Designed specifically for adult beginners and returning skaters, these levels focus on building strong fundamentals such as balance, edges, turns, and basic footwork. Skaters move through the levels at their own pace, with plenty of support and encouragement.
- U.S. Figure Skating Adult Structure – Once comfortable on the ice, adults can choose to continue into U.S. Figure Skating’s testing and competition track. This includes Skating Skills, Free Skate, Dance, and Pairs tests, with divisions specifically for adult skaters.
Together, these pathways give adults the flexibility to skate for fun, fitness, or competition—whatever fits their goals best.
Adult lessons are managed by the City of Laramie Parks & Recreation.
Competitions & Shows
Adult skaters at High Altitude SC can choose how they want to shine on the ice. For those who enjoy performing, our seasonal ice shows are a fun way to showcase skills and be part of a community production. Skaters can perform solo, with a partner, or in group numbers designed for all levels.
For those looking for a challenge, adults may also participate in competitions, from local club events to U.S. Figure Skating’s Adult Competition Series and even Adult Nationals. With divisions created just for adult skaters, competitions are supportive, welcoming, and tailored to every level.
Whether you want to perform under the spotlight, set personal goals, or share the joy of skating with an audience, there’s a place for you on the ice.
